NOVICE TO CONFIDENT COOK
Empowering Your Teenager To Master The Kitchen Before Going To University
DOES THE THOUGHT OF YOUR TEENAGER SURVIVING ON INSTANT NOODLES AND TAKEAWAYS AT UNIVERSITY WORRY YOU?...
The responsibility of independent living can cause anxiety and stress for students and opting for convenience foods and takeaways may seem like an easy fix, but it's neither nutritious nor sustainable in the long run.
Now is the perfect time for young people to learn to cook. While some might learn from their parents, many teenagers resist instruction from mum and dad. The alternatives are expensive hands-on courses or self-teaching via books and YouTube which can be frustrating and chaotic. As a result, many teens head to university without basic cooking skills.
“Novice to confident cook” is a 6-week online course which will transform your teenager from a beginner in the kitchen to a confident, skilled cook.
Beyond just recipes, our course teaches vital kitchen skills, meal planning, and budgeting, empowering students to cook independently and make healthier choices.
Students gain access to an online community of fellow learners. They can share their experiences, ask for advice, and find inspiration from others on the same journey. Regular interaction with both peers and instructors helps reinforce learning and provides a support system to keep students motivated.
One-time fee for lifetime access to course materials, allowing students to revisit lessons and recipes as often as needed.
This course can be completed from the comfort of your own home, eliminating the need for travel or accommodation expenses associated with intensive in-person courses.
The course is broken down into bite size chunks to avoid students feeling overwhelmed.
When Nick first signed up to cooking classes with Alicia he was a typical teenager with minimal cooking experience, he relied heavily on his parents for meals, often opting for quick snacks or takeaway when left to his own devices. Nick and his parents were concerned about how he would manage his nutrition and cooking independently.
Nick wasn’t sure that he had the patience to learn to cook or that he needed any lessons but as the weeks went by Nick’s confidence began to grow, the lessons made complex meals and techniques seem manageable. He loved the sense of accomplishment that came from making his own meals and is now mastering pasta dishes, stir fries and casseroles.
His family are impressed with his progress and Nick has started to take pride in his ability to cook balanced, nutritious meals. Nick’s transformation is evident in his new found INDEPENDENCE and CONFIDENCE.
"Learning to cook with Alicia was one of the best decisions I made to prepare myself for living independently. I went from barely being able to make toast to cooking full meals for myself and my family. The skills I learned not only help me in the kitchen but have also made me more confident in other areas of my life. Thankyou so much for this amazing opportunity!" Nicholas Stothard
